Characters

Jimmy

James Raynor

Jim Raynor will be “the central hero and character of the Terran campaign.” According to Mike Morhaime, Raynor has become bitter since the end of the Brood War, drinking heavily, “running out of belief” and resenting how Arcturus Mengsk used him. He will be leading his mercenary/freedom fighter group, the Raynor’s Raiders, against the Terran Dominion itself, but they don’t have alot of money. Mengsk, a media darling, has used the media to “dismiss” and “marginalize” Raynor, making him out to be a great criminal. Raynor’s Raiders are now the most wanted criminals in the Sector.

Tychus

Tychus Findlay

Tychus J. Findlay, a Terran Marine from Mar Sara, appears in the StarCraft II cinematic trailer. According to his bio, he was born on 20th October, 2468, and has grey hair and blue eyes. He is a Terran hero in the game StarCraft II.

Findlay is an old friend of Raynor’s and often stations himself on Hyperion’s bridge.

Matt

Matt Horner

Lieutenant Matt Horner is a member of Raynor’s Raiders and Jim Raynor’s second in command, along with being the pilot of the Hyperion. Matt appears as one of the characters of StarCraft II, being seen on the bridge of the Hyperion. He acts as Raynor’s “conscience” and tries to keep him focused while “firing up” the Raiders.

Mengsk II

Arcturus Mengsk

Arcturus Mengsk, a Terran from Korhal IV, was the leader of the Sons of Korhal and is now Emperor of the Terran Dominion. His actions in StarCraft II are currently unknown, but he will almost certainly make an appearance in the game. Some fans claim to have seen Mengsk in a cinematic trailer for StarCraft II. Raynor will be leading his mercenary/freedom fighter group against Mengsk, saying “Mengsk is a vicious tyrant, and he needs to be taken down.”

Mengsk III

Valerian Mengsk

Valerian Mengsk will play a role in StarCraft II, providing assistance to his father. He was brought in because Arcturus Mengsk’s story has already been told. The campaign will raise questions such as whether Valerian will turn out the same way as his father, will he become more benevolent, and will he learn from his father’s mistakes.

Arcturus Mengsk pushes his son to make his own way and be his own man. Valerian Mengsk strives for his own power and tries to create his own space, but doesn’t directly challenge his father. In a way, there is a power struggle between them.

Nova

November Annabella “Nova” Terra

November Annabella “Nova” Terra (aka Agent 12-862) is the code name of a Terran Ghost in the Blizzard Entertainment game, StarCraft: Ghost. She may make a cameo appearance in StarCraft II. Some artwork supports this theory. The artwork suggests that Nova has become a Spectre loyal to Arcturus Mengsk.
